Keith is a simple man born in Lynchburg, Tennessee. His father, John, and his mother, Mary, were simple folk in tennesse who worked on a ranch. Soon the Hawkens family was met by a mysterious stranger who encouraged them to try to settle the northern wilds of Texas in a little place called Tall Trees. The family reluctantly accepted bringing nearly the whole Hawkens clan with them. They picked out a nice spot by the river and named it Hawkensville (now called Bearclaw Camp). There they lived for three years in almost a peaceful paradise. The Hawkens family began thinking it was the best decision of there lives. But one day when John was atop the Redemption mountains on a hunt a horde of bears came to the village killing nearly everyone. Keith managed to escape with his two younger brother and took them to live in the forrests of Tall Trees. A few weeks later Kevin, Keiths youngest brother, was killed by a bear right in front of Keith and his other brother Archer. Soon Keith and Archer were all alone in Tall Trees. Keith raised Archer and always looked out for him.

Later on a Trading company named Manzanita came to Tall Trees to set up shop. Keith and Archer became good friends with the owner Bill Manzanita and soon began working for him. Simple hunting and trapping but it was a job. Keith and Archer notably became the best at what they did, Bill soon let go all the other hunters because Keith and Archer could out hunt them ten fold. They stayed at Manzanita post in the tents and thats where they lived for years. Soon a man came to Manzanita, he was a Marshall from Armadillo, he was looking for the best trackers they had and needless to say Keith and Archer were asked to help him find some criminals out in New Austin. Keith and ARcher gladly accpeted the job not knowing then that this was going to change there lives forever. When got down from the hills of Tall Trees he realized Texas was in great perail, crime and curroption ran rampant through Texas like a wildfire burning everything in its path. Being a man of action Keith quit Manzanita to pursue a higher calling and so were born The Sons of Liberty who protect Texas til this very day.
